Note to Readers

The majority of the text on this blog is written by Hikaru, a ball jointed doll. Try not to question it. The text written in pink font is commentary from Hikaru's human friend, Anna. Basically Hikaru does most of the writing and Anna keeps her from getting too out of hand.

Of Bjd Fashion: Headbands for Dolls with a Tutorial

At long last, Anna has made something suitable for me, I mean us to adorn our hair.
She made a variety of beautiful doll sized headbands.
Doll size pearl head band
I adore this pearl head band, and it is so versatile too.  It will go beautifully with everything in my wardrobe.
A lace head band for dolls
This beautiful lace hand band is wonderful as well.  It is nicely accented with a lace rosette on the side.  Yes, it will do nicely.
Cute ribbon headband for dolls.
Anna made the sweetest head band for our little Sakura.  It is made from fin grosgrain ribbon and embellished with a sweet bow.

Anna was clever enough to make a second one with pink ribbon.  They both suit Sakura and will serve well.

Of course there is something for Usagi, such as this lovely head band with a brilliant pink bow.

And this simple layered lace head band.  I may need to borrow it sometime, it would look pleasant with some more casual outfits.
Being as generous as usual, Anna created another video tutorial to share her methods of making these delightful hair accessories.
I nearly forgot to mention the other head bands Anna produced.

They feature cat ears.  Anna says they are intended to help celebrate Halloween.

Of course Sakura and Usagi were thrilled to receive them.  They are looking forward to this holiday.
However I shall leave the dressing up to the children again this year.

“But Miss Ghost Lady, Anna made a special pair for you!  It has a pretty ribbon too.”
…It’s so…cute…

Well, I suppose at least for the others sake, I will participate in this year’s festivities.
Anna went ahead and made a video for these simple Halloween accessories as well.
Happy Halloween my dear readers.

Of Bjd Fashion: A Blue Plaid Skirt Just for Usagi

Anna recently altered one of her dresses, you may view her handiwork here on her blog

Naturally she had enough leftover material to produce a skirt for Usagi.  Just Usagi.

It’s a lovely blue plaid skirt, made just for Usagi.  Nothing at all for me

I mean it’s been ages since the last time Anna made or purchased anything for me, but that’s not important right now.

Anyway, as with most of Usagi’s skirts lately, Anna has made this one terribly short.  But I must say that the pleats are a nice touch.  Paired with the sensible blue plaid, it is reminiscent of a sweet school girl uniform.

And it does look sweet on Usagi indeed.

But I still must know, why did Anna make her a skirt and not me.

It’s because I only had enough fabric for one “terribly short” skirt.  Just one.  And because Usagi is more in need of clothes (and because Hikaru refuses to wear mini-skirts without bribery) I thought it would be perfect this way.

And despite what Hikaru claims, it has not been that long since the last time she has received anything.  Jealousy does effect her memory sometimes.

I am not jealous!  I was only curious, and my memory is just fine thank you.  Anna hasn’t made anything for me in almost two months (see Of Bjd Fashion: Pretty and Pink and Short?).   And I didn’t need to be bribed to try it on.

Anyway, I shall be content in sharing in Usagi’s happiness over her delightful new skirt while I patiently wait for my turn to come.  Because I am such a generous and kind hearted doll.

“Hikaru, I really want you to try on my new skirt too.  It would look so cute on you. :)

….

But it’s so short…

Doll Owner’s Corner: Behind the Scenes Round 4

It’s the first of the month, time for another Doll Owner’s Corner.  When I, the doll owner, can talk about anything at all without the dolls butting in.

This month’s topic:

Bloopers!

I gathered up another batch of behind the scenes photos for your amusement.

If you missed the others you can check here for the first, second, and third sets.

First up, this photo was taken when Usagi got her wig (see Of Bjd Hair: Another Wig Review and an Announcement).

Ball jointed doll wearing a balloon wig cap.

Just like Hikaru, she got a balloon cap to wear to keep her wig on.  They do work really well, but I still can’t keep a straight face when I put them on the dolls.

This next photo was taken before the wig, while I was trying on some tops I made for Usagi (see Of Bjd Fashion: Sweet Doll Tank Tops).

Topless doll trying to do karate instead of cooperating. Just put the shirt on!

She was suppose to keep her arms up so I could put her shirt on her, but instead she decided do her best karate poses.

Is the doll possessed?

This photo is from when we got Sakura (see New Arrival: Mystic Kids Doll Review).  I couldn’t decide if she looked bewildered or possessed in this shot.  You decide.

The next photo was taken while trying on Sakura’s wig (see Of Bjd Hair: Reviewing Three Wigs?).

What happens when you try to take a doll's photo.

It would have been a great picture except for Hikaru’s skirt on the right and Usagi falling over on the left and flashing her shorts.

Doll wig overflow.

And here’s the original group photo of all the dolls (plus a head) with wigs.  Sakura’s wig kind of needed some taming.

Speaking of taming doll hair, as always the toothbrush/doll hair brush is always at hand during photoshoots.

Toothbrush photobomb, again.

And as always, it manages to pop up in at least one otherwise good shot.  It strikes again here in this photo of Usagi checking out a magazine (see Bjd Lifestyle: Haute Doll Magazine, The Bjd Issue).

The doll fell over

This one is from the Party City post (see Finding Doll Props: At The Party Store?).  Both Hikaru and Sakura started to fall over.  I caught Sakura just in time, but Hikaru wasn’t so lucky.

Can't take a photo without the doll falling over.

Sadly, Sakura’s luck ran out when it happened a second time in this shot.

That’s all for now, but there will always be more photos and doll fun in the future.  Look forward to it.
