Much time has passed since our latest ball jointed doll arrived, and things have been running smoothly.
Our new doll is such a sweet girl, so exceedingly polite and well mannered. The children (and Usagi) could really learn so much from her example. She has truly been a delight.
Since she is fairly settled in here, it is high time to present her properly by name.
So I now re-introduce, Momoko.
The name has a pleasant ring to it. However, knowing Anna, it probably refers to some bizarre anime or manga series. Again.
Actually, it comes from a movie that was inspired by a novel, though the movie did inspire a manga too. Plus, I know of another manga series with a character with the same name, but that’s a different story.
Anyway, Momoko is the main character in the Japanese movie, Kamikaze Girls (the Japanese title is Shimotsuma Monogatari).
It’s the story of a girl who wears lolita fashion, a clothing style inspired by the Victorian era that involves modest clothing with lots of pretty lace and ruffles (Hikaru loves it). The character Momoko unwillingly makes friends with a biker girl. It’s both a funny and touching story, so I do recommend it.
The first part of the name, Momo means peach. It is also the name of her sculpt, which is why I told Hikaru I had some ideas for a name for her long before I ordered.
Truth be told, this was one of the names I came up with when trying to choose a name for Hikaru (see What's in a Name). The Momoko in the movie and Hikaru are similar in terms of personality and fashion taste.
Do you mean to tell me I could have been named after an elegant character in a movie as opposed to a some robot in a comic book?!
(Be nice Hikaru, many of your readers like manga.)
Oh well, what’s done is done. Momoko is a lovely name for a lovely doll.
It’s so nice having someone around here who truly understands the brilliance of a perfect cup of tea, unlike some other dolls…
“Tea is super tasty with ice cream. :)”
“I want chocolate milk in mine!”
Oh well, at least they bothered to drink the tea this time.
“Miss Hikaru, may I please have some ice cream tea as well?”
Oh dear, not you too!

Pleasant comments are always welcome and appreciated.
But please, no anti-doll comments. They are unnecessary and a bit rude. We understand that some people find dolls creepy or weird, but this is a "doll blog" that is intended for those who enjoy dolls. If you dislike dolls that much, don't waste your time reading doll blogs.
