Note to Readers

The majority of the text on this blog is written by Hikaru, a ball jointed doll. Try not to question it. The text written in pink font is commentary from Hikaru's human friend, Anna. Basically Hikaru does most of the writing and Anna keeps her from getting too out of hand.

Naming Our Newest Doll and a Little News

Our new ball jointed doll has been with us for about a week and has settled in nicely.  So we have commenced with her lessons.

Naming Our Newest Doll and a Little News

Our little darling’s first lesson involves drinking tea.

Naming Our Newest Doll and a Little News: "What is this?"

“Miss Ghost Lady, what is this?”

It is tea, dear.  And I am not a ghost, I am Hikaru.

Naming Our Newest Doll and a Little News: "What's tea?"

“What’s tea Usagi?”

“It’s a drink Hikaru insists on drinking all the time.  It calms her down when she gets mad and scary. :)

“Is it a magic drink?”

Such an imaginative child, who still persists in calling me “Ghost Lady” instead of my name…

Speaking of names, our dear little 1/6 scale doll now has a name of her own.  Anna claims she actually came up with it long before she even decided to order her.  That I find difficult to believe.

Anyway, the lovely name bestowed upon this dear little doll is…

Sakura

Anna says it means cherry blossom in Japanese.  Knowing Anna, I will assume it is a reference to some sort of anime or manga series as that is the case for both myself and Usagi (see What's in a Name? and Naming a New Doll).

And you are correct about that.  It comes from an incredibly cute manga and anime series called Cardcaptor Sakura

The first time I saw the product photo for the Mystic Kids Vanetta sculpt, I thought “She kind of looks like Sakura.”  Similar to how Usagi was named.  The name just stuck with it, right up to the day I placed the order.  Anyway, the name is very cute and pretty just like her, so it fits perfectly.

Now that we’ve explained all that, who wants to move on to something more fun than drinking tea?

“I do!”

“Me too! :)

Oh honestly!  What’s wrong with enjoying a nice cup of tea.  However, I guess it is time for our next activity.

Anyway, the next lesson today is on computer applications.

Alice’s Collections recently had a sale on bjd wigs and Anna took the opportunity to make a purchase.  She placed the order the same day she purchased Sakura, and the wig is scheduled to arrive within the next couple of days.

How fortunate for Sakura.  After all, I had to wait over two months for mine. (And Usagi had to wait longer, without complaints.)

In the meantime, this presents the perfect opportunity to educate these two on the wonders of technology.  Namely the ease of online shopping.

Pay attention Usagi!  And Sakura dear, leaning too close to the screen will harm your eyes.

Now when you click here in Anna’s account, you can access the details and current status of her order.

“Why are there three wigs?”

Oh dear no, who are the other two for?!

You shall know in due time, look forward to it.

Pleasant comments are always welcome and appreciated.

But please, no anti-doll comments. They are unnecessary and a bit rude. We understand that some people find dolls creepy or weird, but this is a "doll blog" that is intended for those who enjoy dolls. If you dislike dolls that much, don't waste your time reading doll blogs.
