Of Bjd Hair: Fatiao Doll Shop Wig Review Plus a Wig Try On

As with any fine bjd, one of the things needed for our newest doll (see Bjd Unboxing: Surprise Again, Clover Doll Echo) is hair.

Thankfully, after much searching online, Anna has finally located and purchased an appropriate wig.

To help with her research on hair styles, Anna decided to let the new doll try on almost all the wigs in the house.

First we tried what I believe to be the finest wig in the house, my own.  It is a msd sized Dollzone wig purchased from Angelesque (see It's Here at Last! Or a Wig Review ).  The unusual white color looks very well with our doll’s complexion and the style suits her.

Next is Yuki’s hair, a short blond 1/4 sized wig from Alice’s Collections (see Of Bjd Hair: Reviewing Three Wigs?).  The cut and color of this wig are also quite flattering on this doll. (It’s because the Clover Doll Echo is an incredibly versatile sculpt.  Everything looks good on her!)

Here is Usagi’s wig, it is this 7-8 size For My Doll wig in cream pink, purchased from Angelesque (see Of Bjd Hair: Another Wig Review and an Announcement ).

This one was Anna’s personal favorite for our new doll.  So much so that she would have purchased another one for our new doll.  There was just one problem, it is too large.  This doll has a fairly small head, and sadly For My Doll wigs seem to run a little large in our experience.  Such a pity.

And here is where things get amusing.  This is dear little Sakura’s wig, a long blond wig from Alice’s Collections.  Despite being a wig intended for a 1/6 scale doll instead of 1/4, it fits this doll perfectly thanks to her small sized head.

So with the help of this research, Anna choose a wig from a shop on etsy called Fatiao Doll Shop.  A shop that specializes in doll wigs, shoes and accessories.  This particular shop was unknown to us, but they had excellent reviews so Anna thought it best to chance them.

So she made the purchase, and less than a week later, our packaged arrived!  Such speedy service.

The wig arrived packed in a nice box and carefully wrapped in bubble wrap.

The well designed box is a welcome change from the usual plastic bag that most bjd wigs arrive in, it adds a pleasant touch.

And the business card is adorable, Anna thought so as well.

It doubles as a thank you card, a truly delightful touch.

Out of the box, the wig is neatly wrapped in netting and we can see the beautiful and familiar coloring.

As you can see, Anna tracked down a wig in almost the same shade as Usagi’s fine wig.  It is one of their fine Msd sized wigs (currently our of stock).

The difference is that this wig fits our new doll well.  Anna insisted on finding a wig with bangs because she loved the way they look on her.

I personally adore the look of the curls, and the fibers on this wig are wonderfully soft.

Here is the wig in different lighting and after a trim.  After properly fitting our doll with a wig cap, Anna thought the bangs were too long.

We are all quite pleased with this new wig.  The color and quality are wonderful and the service was superb.  I will encourage Anna to continue doing business with Fatiao, perhaps maybe she could find something for me there, my birthday is coming soon.

Anyway, more about the wig. As you can see, it is noticeably lighter in color compared to Usagi’s wig.  However, both colors are beautiful.

And now there are three ball jointed dolls with pink hair.  We simply cannot forget about Yuna (see Doll Love Unboxing Part 2: Reviewing a Wig and Eyes).

This brings up the question, how many more pink wigs will Anna acquire?

Only time will tell my dear readers.

For now, be at peace.

New Arrival: A Doll Love Bjd Unboxing and Review

She is here at last!  Our newest ball jointed doll has arrived safely.

She was purchased through Alice’s Collections, just the same as Sakura and Usagi.  She is made by a delightful company called Doll Love.  The name of her sculpt is You You, and she is a 1/4 scale or yosd sized doll.  The same as our little Sakura.

Unfortunately, this much anticipated package had to be picked up directly from the post office and didn’t arrive directly home until the middle of the night.

Heaven forbid we wait until morning for the unboxing.  Sakura was so terribly excited to meet the new arrival.  She is to be her new playmate after all.

(I can think of someone else who was more excited.)

Inside the package is the doll box, emblazoned with the company logo.

Inside the doll box, we first gaze eyes on a pink doll pillow.  Odd, because all our pillows so far have been shades of white.  Still, it is a lovely shade for a pillow and incredibly soft.

Inside we also found a note card carefully tied up with a fine ribbon.

The company was kind enough to include special care instructions for our new doll.  As well as the doll’s card showing her default photo.

Packed within was an extra set of eyes purchased for Usagi’s friend, the head.  We shall dwell on that later.

Here she is, our newest doll, securely wrapped in protective padding.  And underneath it all…

It's a Doll Love You You, yosd sized ball jointed doll.

Is this adorable face.  Yes, this new ball jointed doll came with her face already painted.  Anna was decent enough to warn me of this fact, unlike last time (see New Arrival: A Mystic Kids Doll Review).

The face up artist did a wonderful job.  It is rather pretty, yet subtle.  At least compared to Sakura’s face.

Speaking of Sakura, I decided to allow her to do the introductions.

Meeting a new doll.

“Hi, I’m Sakura.  You’re pillow is so cute!  You’re really pretty, want to see my toys?  What to play with me?  Want to try on clothes? What do you like to eat?  Want to….”

Sakura dear, please get on with it.

Properly introducing the new doll to the others.

“This is Usagi.  She is really, really nice and has pretty hair and her best friend is a head...”

Oh, you’re so cute! :)”

Properly introducing the new doll to the others.

“And this is Miss Ghost Lady.  She is nice too and really pretty (but she can be crabby sometimes).”

Sakura dear, I have told you before.  My name is Hikaru, not Ghost Lady!

Presenting the new doll dress.

Anyway, it is time to present the official new doll dress.

Originally worn by myself when I first arrived, then past down to each new doll to wear until something more fitting is made for them.  It’s a tradition that must be kept.

A brand new ball jointed doll.

This brings back such pleasant memories.  The dress fits our new doll just as well as it did for Sakura.

Now that she is clothed it is time for some hair.  Unlike myself or the others, this new doll is fortunate enough to receive her wig immediately.

Anna purchased the Doll Love default wig along with our new doll.  It is an intriguing shade of pink and made of soft and very fine fibers.

It does look well on our new doll’s head, but there is something a bit amiss about it.  I shall reveal all another time for we are all exhausted and greatly need our rest.  And perhaps things will seem clearer in daylight.

I shall see you all in the morning.  Be at peace.

Of Bjd Fashion: Headbands for Dolls with a Tutorial

At long last, Anna has made something suitable for me, I mean us to adorn our hair.
She made a variety of beautiful doll sized headbands.
Doll size pearl head band
I adore this pearl head band, and it is so versatile too.  It will go beautifully with everything in my wardrobe.
A lace head band for dolls
This beautiful lace hand band is wonderful as well.  It is nicely accented with a lace rosette on the side.  Yes, it will do nicely.
Cute ribbon headband for dolls.
Anna made the sweetest head band for our little Sakura.  It is made from fin grosgrain ribbon and embellished with a sweet bow.
Cute pink ribbon headband for dolls.
Anna was clever enough to make a second one with pink ribbon.  They both suit Sakura and will serve well.

Of course there is something for Usagi, such as this lovely head band with a brilliant pink bow.

And this simple layered lace head band.  I may need to borrow it sometime, it would look pleasant with some more casual outfits.
Being as generous as usual, Anna created another video tutorial to share her methods of making these delightful hair accessories.
I nearly forgot to mention the other head bands Anna produced.

They feature cat ears.  Anna says they are intended to help celebrate Halloween.

Of course Sakura and Usagi were thrilled to receive them.  They are looking forward to this holiday.
However I shall leave the dressing up to the children again this year.

“But Miss Ghost Lady, Anna made a special pair for you!  It has a pretty ribbon too.”
…It’s so…cute…

Well, I suppose at least for the others sake, I will participate in this year’s festivities.
Anna went ahead and made a video for these simple Halloween accessories as well.
Happy Halloween my dear readers.

Of Bjd Hair: Reviewing Three Wigs?

As previously mentioned, Anna took advantage of a sale on wigs at Alice’s Collections and a little over a week afterward, the package has arrived.  What joy!

Of Bjd Hair: Reviewing Three Wigs?

Anna did not receive the package until the evening, but this time she had the patience to wait until morning to open it.  Early morning, which sadly does not offer the best lighting for photos.

But we can’t delay it anymore, Sakura is very anxious to see her new wig.

Inside the box are three carefully wrapped bjd wigs.

It is peculiar for there to be three wigs, but Anna shall reveal the reason shortly.

Of Bjd Hair: Reviewing Three Wigs? From Alice's Collections

All the wigs are fairly nice quality, especially when you consider their low price ($36.47 total and free shipping)

Each one has a band of elastic on the inside for a snug fit and the stitching is neatly done.  Isn’t that right, Usagi?

Stop playing with the bubble wrap you two!

Anyway, the first wig is a short blond one sized for a msd or 1/4 sized doll.

Of Bjd Hair: Reviewing Three Wigs? From Alice's Collections AFB4054 Blond Wig for msd bjds.

Surprisingly, Anna purchased it for Usagi’s friend (see Welcome Home, Doll Family-A Unboxing).  He doesn’t have eyes or a proper body, but now he has suitable hair.  It actually looks quite fine on him.  Makes him appear less…odd.

Of Bjd Hair: Reviewing Three Wigs? From Alice's Collections

The other two wigs are sized for a yosd or 1/6 sized doll, but why two?  Sakura is the only ball jointed doll that size around here.

Simply because that won’t always be the case.  I actually plan on buying another yosd sized doll in the future.  In the distant future.  Someone who may make a good little friend for Sakura.

So I’m planning ahead.  Since the wigs were on sale, why not get another one for that future doll?  Plus, I had trouble trying to choose between these two wigs.  Why not get them both and try them out on Sakura?

So we have to choose then?  Fair enough.

Of Bjd Hair: Reviewing Three Wigs? From Alice's Collections AFB6023 Blond wig for yosd bjds.

Here is the first of the two wigs.  A long wavy wig, the same shade of blond as Usagi’s friend’s new wig.

The color looks wonderful on her, but I’m afraid the wig is a bit unruly.  How on Earth will we keep her looking perfectly tidy with such hair?

Of Bjd Hair: Reviewing Three Wigs? From Alice's Collections AFB6030 Brown wig for yosd bjds.

The next wig is a lovely shade of brown.  Cut and curled just below her chin, it is a very becoming style and would be fairly easy to manage.  I very much approve of this style.

Well then Hikaru, I am sorry to say that Sakura wants the blond wig.  The hair color looks better with her eyes and she really likes it.  Mostly because it is the same color as Usagi’s friend’s wig.

Wonders never cease to amaze me.  But I suppose with a little bit of a trim and careful styling, it may improve to my eyes at least.

Of Bjd Hair: Reviewing Three Wigs? From Alice's Collections: All the dolls have wigs now!

And for now, the entire ball jointed doll family has a full head of hair.  And I shall do my best to prevent it from becoming a hairy mess.  (Bad pun.) Be at peace.
